Detector
GD1 Toxic Gas Laser Detector
The GD1 has been designed with features that provide an effective response to the detection of gas hazards in a wide range of industrial environments from offshore production facilities to wastewater treatment plants. At the heart of the detector is a tuneable laser diode that eliminates environmental effects from sun, rain and fog. The laser scans single absorption lines where there is no interference from other gases.
Unlike traditional methods for detecting H2S (MOS or EC cell) the GD1 needs no recalibration and can replace multiple standard detectors to cover the same risk. The complete optomechanical design and construction is so stable that an ultra fast speed of response can be achieved while providing unparalleled service life and detector stability, thus saving on maintenance and service costs.
Supplied with worldwide hazardous area approvals. Suitable for use in systems with SIL 2 requirement.

Spyglass Open Path Combustible Gas Detector
Spyglass Open Path Combustible Gas Detector
The Spyglass system detects hydrocarbon gases by analyzing the absorption of radiation caused by gases in the atmosphere and comparing it to background atmospheric absorption. This is accomplished between a pair of units: a Flash Source and a Detector that can monitor a distance of up to 200 meters.
Spyglass Gas Detectors are robustly designed and can handle the toughest environments: 316L stainless steel housings that meet IP66/IP68 and NEMA 250 6P egress standards; circuit boards epoxy coated for protection; MIL-C-810C testing for humidity, salt, fog, vibration, mechanical shock and temperature extremes; and SIL-2 approval per IEC61508 is a final statement in reliability.
- Multi-combustible gas detection
- Range of 200 meters
- Low maintenance costs
- Easy detector communication
- Easy configuration and troubleshooting
- Automatic heated optics
- Built-in event recorder
- Stainless steel construction
- Long warranty

Meridian Hazardous Area Fixed Gas Detector
Whether you need an infrared or catalytic bead sensor to detect combustible gases or an electrochemical sensor for a toxic environment, the Meridian universal gas detector utilizes a single detector head to easily accept all sensor types. There is no requirement for distinct personality boards in the gas detector or different detector heads to make the instrument behave as a combustible or toxic gas detector. The Meridian gas detector accepts all sensor types in one detector. Simply attach the specific toxic or combustible sensor to the universal detector head and the Meridian gas detector will automatically determine the type of gas to be detected. Installation of the sensor is a simple plug-and-play action. At Scott Safety, we are always looking to anticipate your future needs. We designed the Meridian gas detection platform to be future proof, allowing you to take advantage of new sensing technologies from Scott Safety while maintaining ease of use and peace of mind.

The OLCT 60 Series gas detectors
Introducing the OLCT 60, a new generation of high quality gas detectors which covers all industrial needs for a variety of applications.
The OLCT 60 Series is composed of several versions:
- XP or IS sensor (toxic or oxygen versions)
- Remote or on-board sensor.
The OLCT 60AD version allows the sensor to be installed remotely up to 15 meters (standard), allowing detection in inaccessible locations, or in Zone 0 in the case of the intrinsically safe (IS) version. The detector units are made of 316L stainless steel, and are rugged and resistant to corrosion. Pre-calibrated sensors can be disconnected by turning the head of the unit. These “smart” sensors can be calibrated outside hazardous areas.
The OLCT 60 is equipped with non-intrusive access to a safe menu. In hazardous areas, calibration can be done with an operating mode in accordance with safety rules.
- Access to maintenance menu
- Pure air injection
- Zero validation*
- Standard gas injection
- Calibration validation taking into account the usage rate*
All of these tasks can be carried out without opening the detector, using a unique magnetic key. Access to the maintenance mode is protected to avoid accidental reprogramming of the unit.
